The young winger arrived at Man City as Riyad Mahrez’s replacement.

Jeremy Doku can’t wait to play more alongside Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City.

Before moving to Man City, Doku had already made a few appearances for Belgium, where he’s also teammates with De Bruyne. The 21-year-old looks forward to getting more assists from De Bruyne at Etihad.

“De Bruyne is a top player, a legend for Belgian people, and everyone who loves football,” he told City’s website.

“We’re very happy and proud to have him represent our country. The first time we spoke he said when he gives me the ball -and if I’m in a one-on-one – just go!”

He added: “He also assisted my first goal for the national team. I can’t wait, and I know I will learn a lot from him. I’ve enjoyed playing alongside Kevin for Belgium and I will enjoy playing alongside him with Man City.

“He can provide an assist from anywhere on the pitch which means I’ll score more goals. I can’t wait to line-up with him again and like everyone at Man City, I hope he recovers quickly.”

De Bruyne is currently out with a hamstring injury that, according to Pep Guardiola, could keep him sidelined until the early weeks of 2024.
