As the rest of Europe goes through a fiery summer transfer window, Jurgen Klopp has some discouraging news for Liverpool fans.

All Liverpool supporters were expecting Jurgen Klopp to make some important transfer decisions this summer. Many of the biggest clubs in the continent have been signing players left and right in the middle of a global pandemic. They don’t seem to care about the rest of the squads’ limited funds and they spend money like there’s no tomorrow. PSG just signed Leo Messi, which leaves Kylian Mbappe as a possibility for any club that can pay for him.

Last season, there were rumors linking the French star to the Reds. But for Klopp, spending that much money on a single player is not the smart move. Especially when you already have one of the most competitive teams in the continent. Last season was unfortunate for a burned-out group of players, they all needed to take a breather. People often forget this squad won the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League in consecutive seasons. All Klopp needed was some resting time for his biggest stars.

Klopp is confident on his players.

As per The Mirror, Klopp was questioned about Liverpool’s lack of transfer activity this summer: “You have to make changes from time to time, but then there must be room to do it. We do not want more players. Unless something happens it makes no sense to add more players. Everyone expects some player signings, (but) let’s go through the squad Do you want to buy a new fullback? A new goalkeeper? We already have good players there. In midfield, we have players with a lot of experience.

“In addition, we have exciting young boys in Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones. In attack, Mané, Firmino, Salah, Jota, Shaqiri, Minamino, and Origi. If you want to buy such players, you have to spend a lot of money. We do not have to do that, because the players are already here. We have tried to extend contracts with key players in the club, something we are still going to try on. Some clubs have a different approach, which is seen from the outside, perhaps more exciting, but extending contracts with good players is a challenge in itself in today’s football.”
