The Reds anxiously await test results on three players after beating Brentford.

Jurgen Klopp provided an early update on three Liverpool players who might’ve suffered injuries against Brentford.

Mohamed Salah marked his return from injury with a goal as the Reds defeated Brentford 4-1. The victory was, however, tainted with the possible injuries of Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez, who were all taken off during the game.

“Today there was – I didn’t see it back – a knock for Curtis. Whatever that means to his leg, we will see that. It was a challenge with Diogo as well,” the Liverpool manager said post-match.

“Darwin, we were not sure if he had something or not. He felt a little bit and after already having two players off and – you cannot really change anymore in the second half, or only one time – that’s why we decided at half-time to bring on Cody which was obviously a good idea as well.”

Despite Salah and Kostas Tsimikas’ returns, Liverpool still has seven players on the sidelines ahead of their mid-week game against Luton Town.

The Reds will hope to have more players back before facing Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final next weekend. But the new injuries, particularly that of Nunez, might worsen Liverpool’s squad issues ahead of their busy schedule at the end of February.
