New Liverpool defender, Konstantinos Tsimikas has impressed Jurgen Klopp in the preseason friendly against Stuttgart.

Liverpool are in Austria preparing for their 2020/21 Premier League title defense. They took on Bundesliga side Stuttgart in a pre-season friendly.

Roberto Firminio, Rhyian Brewster and Naby Keita got on the scoreboard. However, it was new arrival Konstantinos Tsimikas that earned praise from Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp was in awe of the Greek defender’s pace and how easily he is adapting with his new teammates.

“Good, good. He is a pretty quick player and pretty confident, how you will hear in his [post-match] interview, but he is a good player – a really good player – and he did well,” 101GreatGoals quoted Klopp.

Initial signs from Tsimkas are great. However, he is not at the level to start for Liverpool regularly. Klopp does not see the former Olympiacos player well versed with his high-tempo playing style.

“The next challenge for him is now to get used to our defending and things.

“It will take time, no doubt, but when he has the ball it looks not so bad.”

Tsimikas is not the only addition expected at Anfield. Liverpool are looking to add Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. Negotiations are expected to begin once the Bavarian side’s Champions League adventures finish.
