The Liverpool boss gave his take on Arsenal’s rollercoaster start to the new Premier League season.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted ‘everyone was wondering’ about Arsenal only three weeks ago after a poor start to the season.

A 5-0 loss to Manchester City at the end of August left the Gunners bottom of the Premier League table without a single point, having fallen to a defeat in each of their opening three games.

A recent four-match winning run, however, has lifted morale. The streak may have ended in a 0-0 draw at Brighton on Saturday, but Arsenal are back in the top half of the Premier League. In fact, they only lie four points outside the top four at the time of writing.

Now even Klopp has acknowledged the Gunners are beginning to hit their stride under manager Mikel Arteta.

“The league is so strong,” the Liverpool boss told Sky Sports. “What Chelsea are doing, what [Manchester] United are doing… Arsenal, three weeks ago, everyone was wondering about them, but now they’re getting closer to the football they want to play.

“Tottenham? Last week they struggled but they will be back…”

Arsenal return to action on October 18 for a home Premier League match against Crystal Palace after the international break.

Klopp and Liverpool, meanwhile, welcome Manchester City to Anfield on Sunday evening. Check out the match preview and betting tips here.
