The former Real Madrid manager has emerged as a possible option to replace Tite as the new Brazil boss.

Former Brazil international Juninho Pernambucano believes Zinedine Zidane will be a “perfect” coach for the Selecao.

Zidane is reportedly eager to continue his managerial career by joining France. However, Didier Deschamps’ successful run has seen the French Football Federation sticking with Zidane’s former teammate.

A host of clubs and national teams have shown interest in hiring the former Real Madrid boss. However, Zidane has refused to return to coaching since leaving Santiago Bernabeu in June 2021.

Speaking about Brazil’s search for a new manager after the World Cup, Juninho insisted the Selecao must be open to appointing a foreign boss.

“Football is a democratic sport. Everyone can participate, although the priority will always be a coach from your country, who knows the local football,” Juninho told RMC.

“But if today you don’t have a name that is unanimous in Brazil, why not look outside? But you can’t take someone outside because you’re going to propose a huge contract.”

Asked about his opinion on Brazil’s interest in signing Zidane, the former Lyon star added: “I see Zidane as the perfect coach for Brazil.”

In October, Zidane revealed he will soon return to coaching.

“Do I miss the coaching suit? No, I’m not far away,” he said.

“We’re waiting, we’re waiting a little bit. Soon, soon.”
