The young midfielder has become a transfer priority for the La Liga champions.

Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Jude Bellingham’s “great” form amid reports linking the England international with a move to Real Madrid.

Despite interest from a host of elite Premier League sides, Real Madrid are reportedly leading the race to sign Bellingham.

The 19-year-old spent an impressive World Cup campaign with England as he further established his reputation as one of the most promising young stars in the market.

Real Madrid have effectively started their efforts to replace their legendary midfield unit of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos with younger options.

The likes of Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga have found their places in Ancelotti’s lineup. However, the club are keen to add another young midfielder to their ranks next summer.

“Bellingham has proven to be a great midfielder at the World Cup, like others,” Ancelotti told a press conference.

“There are many young people, Enzo [Fernandez], Pedri and Gavi… There are many young midfielders that are coming out and Bellingham is one of them.

“But I keep my midfield, which is very good. Tchouameni, Camavinga, Valverde… We have a lot of young people here.”

Real Madrid returned to La Liga by beating Valladolid 2-0 last week. Next up, the Blancos meet Villarreal on Saturday.
