The Reds face serious competition from other elite sides in the race to sign Bellingham.

Manchester City are reportedly in the pole position to sign Jude Bellingham next summer.

Earlier this season reports from English media claimed Liverpool were the main suitors for Bellingham. Real Madrid have also stayed in the race to sign the young midfielder.

However, it seems that both sides should prepare to face competition from Man City.

According to ESPN, Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish are playing “an important role” in convincing the midfielder over a move. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are also not planning to give up on their dreams of signing the 19-year-old without a fight.

Dortmund have reportedly set a £130m price tag on Bellingham. However, the Black and Yellows are also still eager to keep him in their squad for another season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool will sign two or three new midfielders next summer. An extended Bellingham saga could see Liverpool miss out on their other targets for the transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly planning to go into the next campaign’s pre-season period with a full squad. The likes of Mason Mount, Ryan Gravenberch, and Matheus Nunes have appeared as Liverpool’s alternatives for Bellingham.
