In a matter of mere months, Bellingham has transformed from a promising young talent into a potential Real Madrid legend.
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has revealed the origins of his trademark goal celebration.
Bellingham’s performances, particularly his incredible goalscoring form, have surprised even the most optimistic Real Madrid fans. Since completing a summer move from Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham has scored 17 goals in 24 matches, becoming an instant fan-favourite at Santiago Bernabeu.
In an interview with RMTV, the 20-year-old has revealed his goal celebration, where he extends his arms wide and raises them aloft, has its origins in his earlier years at Birmingham City.
“The truth is that I don’t know exactly where it comes from. I started doing it in Birmingham and from there I have continued it but there is no reason,” Bellingham said. “It is a pride that children imitate me.”
Bellingham made his senior debut for Birmingham when he was only 16 years old, becoming the club’s youngest-ever player. His trademark celebration was first showcased during a senior match in September 2019 when he scored the winning goal in a match against Charlton.
