The Serbian striker matched his goal tally of one-and-a-half seasons in Spain in under half-an-hour of action in Germany after his loan return.
Luka Jovic was left with an “amazing feeling” after hitting a brace in his second Eintracht Frankfurt debut.
After failing to deliver to the expectations at Santiago Bernabeu following a €60 million switch from Eintracht, Jovic headed back to familiar surroundings this week on a loan move.
The 23-year-old sprung back to life, quickly rediscovering the fine form in front of goal that had prompted Real Madrid to pay big bucks for him in the summer of 2019.
Scoring twice after coming off the bench in his first match, he led his side to a 3-1 Bundesliga win over Schalke.
Jovic scored the same amount of goals in just 28 minutes with Frankfurt as he did in his last two seasons with Real Madrid.
“Amazing feeling! Victory, two goals. Couldn’t have imagined a better comeback,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
“I hope this is only the beginning and that the best is yet to come. Thank you all for your support.
“I want to dedicate my first goal to a great professional, an amazing leader, a true friend, a great man that I’ve been honored to share the field with, our captain @davidabraham1986 [who retired].
“The second goal I dedicate to a great Eintracht fan that has recently passed away and left his loving wife and three kids. Rest In Peace.”
