The Roma coach has reunited with Nemanja Matic for a third time after spells together at Man Utd and Chelsea.
AS Roma have announced the signing of Nemanja Matic on a one-year contract.
The 33-year-old midfielder joins the Serie A club on a free transfer from Manchester United. He will wear the No. 21 jersey and has the option to extend his stay by another 12 months.
Matic becomes Roma’s first signing of the 2022 summer transfer window.
“I am pleased and honored to be joining this club and I cannot wait to start the new season with my teammates,” he told the club’s website.
“Roma is a big club, with amazing fans and a coach, Jose Mourinho, who is well known to everyone – making the decision to come here very straightforward. I hope that by working together we are able to achieve some great things.”

Third time the charm?
This transfer marks the third time Jose Mourinho has signed Matic, having done so at Chelsea in 2014 and Manchester United in 2017.
The former Serbia international has managed six goals and 11 assists in 159 appearances under the Roma manager so far.
Matic will hope to build on these stats as he joins a Roma side that finished sixth in Serie A and won the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League last season.
