The possible departure of Carlo Ancelotti has generated rumours about Mourinho’s return.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided to stay at Roma until his current contract expires in 2024.

The former Chelsea manager arrived at Roma after Tottenham sacked him in 2021. Last season, he led the Gialorossi to their first-ever European title by claiming the Europa Conference League.

Roma has reached the Europa League quarter-finals this season. The prospect of continuing his job at Roma seems to have convinced Mourinho to stay beyond the current campaign.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the experienced manager has considered his future during the international break. The Italian outlet claims Mourinho has reached a conclusion to stay at Roma until June 2024.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are the two clubs that closely follow Mourinho’s situation at Roma. Both sides could change managers at the end of the season.

Christophe Galtier has come under fire for his side’s underwhelming displays in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. On the other hand, Ancelotti has a tempting offer on the table from Brazil.

Mourinho’s possible stay at Roma will benefit other top coaches who are currently out of a job. Mauricio Pochettino, who has avoided a new move since leaving PSG in July 2022, could emerge as a serious option for Real Madrid.

On the other hand, PSG and Tottenham might intensify their efforts to sign Julian Nagelsmann, who left Bayern Munich after his unexpected sacking last week.
