The former Chelsea star has found a solid start to life in north London.
Jorginho will stay at Arsenal next season, according to his agent.
A deadline day move saw Jorginho join the Gunners for £12m last winter. The Italian star integrated quickly into Mikel Arteta’s side, securing a regular spot in his starting midfield unit.
The 31-year-old has attracted interest from Lazio ahead of the next season. A few Italian sources have claimed that Maurizio Sarri considers Jorginho as one of his priority targets this summer. The pair have worked together during Sarri’s spells at Chelsea and Napoli.
But Jorginho’s agent has confirmed his client has no plans of leaving Emirates.
“It’s not about the interest of Lazio or their budget… I can confirm that Jorginho is very happy at Arsenal.” Joao Santo told TV Play.
“In our plans it’s only Arsenal for next season. No negotiations with Lazio.”
Last season, Jorginho made 32 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and Arsenal. At 31 years old, the former Napoli star feels he can stay at the top level for at least another season.
However, with Arsenal pushing to sign Declan Rice, the experienced midfielder should prepare to deal with limited playing time next season.
