The former Chelsea and England captain answered questions about his career in a live fan Q&A.

Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho are the two best players that John Terry faced in his career.

In a live Q&A session on Instagram on Sunday, Terry revealed his ‘love’ for Barcelona. The 41-year-old, who currently holds a coaching consultancy role at the Chelsea academy, claimed the Catalan giants were ‘easily the best team ever in my generation’.

“Was it too obvious?” Terry replied when a fan asked if he was a secret fan.

“Yes, I am. I love Barcelona.”

Terry also stated that, other than Stamford Bridge and Wembley, Camp Nou was his favorite stadium to play in.

He later named Barca legends Messi and Ronaldinho as the joint-two best players he played against in his career.

When did Terry face Messi & Ronaldinho?

John Terry came up against Messi eight times in the Champions League from 2006 until 2012. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner failed to score or assist in any of these matches. However, while they lost just once to Barcelona, Chelsea had to settle for two wins and five draws.

As for Ronaldinho, Terry faced the Brazilian great seven times for club and country.

Their most memorable encounter was in 2005 in a Champions League last 16 second leg tie. Despite Ronaldinho scoring twice for Barcelona, Terry headed in a decisive goal to seal a 5-4 aggregate win for the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
