Joe Hart says he is impressed with the form of Tottenham at the moment while also heaping praise on ‘faultless’ teammate Harry Kane.
Joe Hart has urged his side to put in more effort and make all the talk reflect on the pitch. There’s been much said about Tottenham being genuine title challengers this term.
They have blown hot and cold this term but many still believe they have enough quality to battle for silverware.
Having won numerous individual and team honors with Manchester City, Joe Hart is no stranger to winning titles and believes Spurs are on the right track at the moment.
The veteran goalkeeper has called for less talk and more action on the pitch.
“We are moving in the right direction,” said Hart in an interview with BBC.
“Jose [Mourinho] inherited a good team and he has made some shrewd additions.
“There is a big difference between saying you want to win something and showing and believing and doing the right things to put yourself in the best position to win.
“Where you want to be is when all the finals are over and the Premier League is finished, everyone can look at each other and say we left nothing out there and threw everything at it.”
Hart also heaped praise on teammate Harry Kane who has seen a flying start to the season.
The striker already has five goals and eight assists in the Premier League. On the continental front, he has scored a further five times in the Europa League.
Hart was part of the England squad when Kane was first called up in 2015. Now they are teammates, the goalkeeper says he appreciates the striker’s quality even more.
“He has always had that ability,” said Hart.
“I struggle to find a fault with Harry. He is absolutely brilliant. Every single pass, every single shot, every single decision.
“He is such a team player. His leadership is doing it, which is often more important than being vocal.
“We have seen how selfless he is. He is a special player and I love being in the same team as him.”
