As the final days of the summer transfer window approach, Joao Felix’s future remains unresolved.
In a determined bid to fulfill his dream of donning the Barcelona jersey, Joao Felix has set a deadline for his much-anticipated transfer.
The 23-year-old forward, who expressed his desire to join Barcelona to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano earlier this summer, is unwilling to wait indefinitely.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Felix remains resolute in his desire to join Barcelona. He is willing to extend the waiting period until Friday, but no further.
Yet, this transfer saga is far from straightforward. Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties have cast a shadow of uncertainty over the deal. While the Catalan club is allegedly interested in Felix, securing the necessary funds to finalize the transfer is no easy feat.
Atletico Madrid, Felix’s current team, want to part with him. The club’s president, Enrique Cerezo, has publicly stated that the forward no longer wishes to represent Atletico.
This has left Felix sidelined. The Portugal international has watched from the bench during two of Atletico’s first three La Liga games against Granada and Rayo Vallecano. He didn’t play a single minute in any of them.
In a surprising twist, reports have also suggested that Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal could potentially swoop in and sign Felix on a loan deal. This would at least provide a short-term fix for the player’s future.
