Fabio Capello has backed Juventus in the pursuit of Raul Jimenez saying he could a great strike partner for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Wolves’ Raul Jimenez was one of Premier League’s best goalscorers last season, finding the back of the net 17 times from 38 games.

He was also crucial in his side’s Europa League run up to the quarter-finals as he scored four and set up three goals across nine games in the competition. All in all, he enjoyed an impressive 2019/20 season.

In other news, Juventus are looking to sign a new forward. Strengthening the front line is a priority for new boss Andrea Pirlo and he wants to dip in the market to bring in a partner in crime up front for Cristiano Ronaldo.

AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko, Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik, and Jimenez are a few names rumored to be on Pirlo’s wishlist.

According to Fabio Capello, Jimenez would be the most suitable signing among those three for Juve as he could replicate the role of Karim Benzema, a player who helped bring the best out of Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

“He is a great player who has lots of talent, ideal to play alongside Ronaldo,” Capello told about the Wolves star, speaking to ESPN.

“Because Cristiano has been missing a [Karim] Benzema at Juventus, that could be Raul.

“Juve’s problem is that they have to sell players and loan others out in order to go back into the market.”
