The England international left Old Trafford as a free agent earlier this summer.
Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Jesse Lingard ahead of the next season.
Lingard left Manchester United when his contract ended in June. Despite interest from foreign clubs, the 29-year-old has decided to stay in the Premier League.
A statement from Forest on Thursday confirmed they have completed a move for Lingard.
According to the Guardian, Lingard will earn around £200,000 a week at Forest. The newly-promoted side are spending a busy transfer window, adding a host of new players to their squad ahead of their return to the English top flight.
Lingard will join Forest’s record-signing Taiwo Awoniyi, who arrived from Union Berlin earlier this summer. The former Manchester United forward starts a new chapter in his career after making 232 senior appearances for the Red Devils.
West Ham United and Everton were also in the race for Lingard. However, Forest eventually managed to win the race by providing the England international with a hard-to-reject wage offer.
So far this summer, Forest have signed Lingard, Awoniyi, Neco Williams, Moussa Niakhate, Guilian Biancone, Omar Richards, Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo, Brandon Aguilera and Wayne Hennessey. Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson has also arrived on a loan deal.
Lingard can make his Forest debut this Saturday when the Premier League side meet Union Berlin in a friendly match.
