According to 90min, the Red Devils will have to pay around £50m to sign the 28-year-old. In addition to United, Tottenham and Aston Villa have expressed their interest in a possible move for the experienced midfielder.
Ward-Prowse has played for the Saints his entire career, registering 53 goals and 51 assists in his 402 senior appearances for the club.
The England international is under contract at Saint Mary’s Stadium until 2026, with the Saints being under no pressure to sell him next summer.
Man Utd hope to keep Marcel Sabitzer at the club beyond his six-month loan deal. However, if they fail to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich over a transfer fee, they could turn their attention toward Ward-Prowse as their next midfield target.
