Two of the strongest title contenders will collide on Saturday – and the result could be pivotal in the race for the Premier League crown.

Well aware of the threats that their upcoming opponents could post to Chelsea, Reece James is anticipating a “very tough game” against Liverpool.

Chelsea will go into Saturday’s match high on morale, having secured comfortable victories in each of their first two Premier League fixtures.

Liverpool are on excellent form as well, having beaten Norwich City 3-0 and Burnley 2-0 in their last two outings.

The Blues are viewed as slight favorites to win the crunch clash at the Etihad, but James has warned his teammates not to get ahead of themselves.

“Liverpool have been up there at the top of the Premier League for the last few seasons so we know going there will be a very tough game,” the full-back told Chelsea’s official website.

“We need to prepare right and bring the same intensity as today into that game but our team is very strong.

“I wouldn’t say there’s any pressure on us right now. We have to take it game by game but obviously our aim is to win every week.

“Everybody here is ambitious and wants to win the title but we just have to take things slowly right now.”
