With Lionel Messi on the lookout for a new club, James Rodriguez has urged him to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
James Rodriguez thinks Lionel Messi should link up with Cristiano Ronaldo as it would be a ‘bomb’ and a ‘dream’ for fans.
Messi is a free agent following unsuccessful contract talks with Barcelona. He was keen to stay at Camp Nou and agreed to a 50% pay cut. But the club’s precarious financial situation and La Liga’s salary cap have forced him to look elsewhere, with Paris Saint-Germain now his most likely destination.
But James reckons the Argentine should turn down PSG in favor of joining his great rival Ronaldo in Turin.
“Messi should go to Juventus and play with Cristiano Ronaldo,” the 30-year-old said on Twitch.
“It would be a bomb. It’s the dream of many fans to see those two play together.
“Messi managed 30 goals and 30 assists for Barcelona per year at least. Now they will have to look for other players to do that.”
Messi still does not have a firm offer on the table, but he knows that PSG have a good proposal prepared that they will present in the next few hours. Then there's Chelsea, who're also preparing something. And that's not all, because a third club has entered the race. [as] pic.twitter.com/eWqlLhuyD9

Clasicos won’t be the same anymore
James, who played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid between 2014 and 2017, thinks the famous Clasico showdown between his old club and Barcelona won’t be the same any longer.
The Everton playmaker added: “Football has changed a lot.
“Messi leaving Barcelona confirms that. Who would have imagined that he would leave Barcelona or that Sergio Ramos would leave Real Madrid [for PSG]?
“El Clasicos in La Liga are going to be different. Before, the cameras were for Cristiano and Messi. Now people will still watch but it won’t be the same.”
