'It’s difficult to play against him' - Partey points up Odegaard strengths

The talented Norwegian has featured twice ever since teaming up with the north London side on a temporary basis in January.

Thomas Partey is backing new teammate Martin Odegaard to have a “great season” at Arsenal.

Odegaard has a point to prove at Arsenal. He will hope to prove Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wrong for not handing him opportunities in the first half of the season.

The playmaker made his debut for the club last week in the scoreless stalemate against Manchester United.

His second appearance came in the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa – a match in which he showed glimpses of his talent, seeing plenty of the ball in central areas and showing his knack of distribution.

Partey, who himself moved from La Liga on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, is delighted to have him on board as he gives a glowing verdict of Odegaard.

“It’s difficult when you play against him. I remember playing against him, he’s so intelligent, he is always quick on the ball, he doesn’t give you a chance to win the ball,” the Ghanaian told Stadium Astro.

“It’s amazing to have him here. I hope he has a great season and he’s able to help us achieve what we want to achieve.”
