Sandro Tonali suggests he always dreamt of playing for AC Milan and is over the moon after signing for the club he grew up supporting.
A number of clubs were understood to be in the race to sign the Italian prodigy that is Sandro Tonali, and it was AC Milan who ended up victorious.
The highly-rated midfielder impressed during his breakout season with Brescia in 2019/20 but was unable to prevent them from suffering relegation from the Italian top-flight.
Milan announced his capture on Wednesday on a season-long loan deal with an option to make the transfer permanent.
An official statement regarding the future fees of the 20-year old, who will wear the number 8 jersey in the upcoming season, has not been made but reliable sources suggest the figure would amount to €35 million.
A lifelong Rossoneri fan, Tonali expressed his delight after touring the club’s trophy room becoming a part of the team.
“It’s a dream come true. It’s a dream that many children have,” he said during his first interview with Milan TV.
“I decided to post the photo of myself as a kid wearing the Milan shirt on Instagram because it seemed a perfect way to describe the moment I left the Rossoneri colors behind to pursue a career and now I return to this team.
“I tell the fans that together we can do anything, even the impossible is not beyond this Milan.”
