Gianluigi Donnarumma much of a spectator throughout the match as Gli Azzurri get the European Championships underway in style.
Italy recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Turkey in their opening Euro 2020 match on Friday.
It was Merih Demiral who scored the first goal of the tournament, albeit for the wrong team. Domenico Berardi squared the ball into the box after making an industrious run down the right flank, the ball ricocheted off Demiral’s chest and bounced into the back of his own net.
Ciro Immobile then doubled his side’s advantage, firing into the far corner of the net from from six yards out. The Lazio striker was in the right place at the right time as the ball fell right to his feet after the opposition goalkeeper parried away Leonardo Spinazzola’s powerful shot.
Moments before the match entered its final ten minutes, Lorenzo Insigne put the game to bed with a curling shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
