Germany and Italy drew 1-1 in their UEFA Nations League clash on Saturday. A thrilling battle saw both sides missing quite a few opportunities to bring home the three points.

Germany started the game by controlling the possession, while Italy looked for counter-attacking opportunities. The Mannschaft came close to scoring several times during the first half but couldn’t convert their chances.
Italy looked much better after the interval and immediately started pushing for the opener. The Azzurri also showed more control in holding on to the possession while looking for spaces down both flanks.
Following a few missed chances, Roberto Mancini’s side finally broke the deadlock through Lorenzo Pellegrini in the 70th minute.
A cutback from Wilfried Gnonto found the Roma star, who nodded the ball home from close range. However, Germany bounced back quickly to score the equalizer only three minutes later.
A cross from Jonas Hoffman hit Timo Werner inside the box before landing in front of Joshua Kimmich. The Bayern Munich striker immediately unleashed a precise strike, giving no chance to Gianluigi Donnarumma to react in time.
Both sides pushed to get the match-winner in the final ten minutes of the game. However, they had no luck in finding the back of the net and settled for a draw.
