According to recent reports coming from England, Thierry Henry might be close to landing a new job as a manager in English football.
Thierry Henry was trying to make his way through management in different squads since he started his career. First, he tried to do something important at AS Monaco but failed miserably. Before that, he was part of Belgium’s technical staff that took the Red Devils to the World Cup semifinals in 2018. With that confidence from such a prestigious international tournament, Henry believed he could do interesting things in France.
But reality struck him hard after missing many chances to prove himself as a manager. By the time he arrived in the MLS to coach CF Montreal, Henry was just willing to learn more ahead of new challenges. As it turns out, that experience in Canada helped him attract new jobs for 2021. Reports from Sky Sports suggest that an English club is willing to make an effort for Thierry Henry. He is in contention for the job with another French manager right now.
AFC Bournemouth is after Thierry Henry.
The report suggests Henry is currently in talks to possibly take over the AFC Bournemouth hot seat. However, it is also reported that the ‘Cherries’ are also looking at Patrick Vieira for the position. For Henry, this would definitely be a step forward after a decent spell at CF Montreal in the MLS. This was the opportunity he’s been looking for and he has every intention to land this job.
But Bournemouth is seriously considering both options at the moment. The English club sacked Jason Tindall at the beginning of the month and they are actively looking for his replacement. Even though it’s not official yet, it seems Henry has the upper hand above Vieira and his announcement is a matter of time. While they take a pick, Bournemouth has Jonathan Woodgate as the interim manager.
