Thomas Tuchel uses other European giants to emphasize his view that PSG get far less credit for their feats in France than what they deserve.

PSG entered the 2020/21 season as triple champions, having won the Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Coupe de la Ligue, in the late-finishing campaign.

The Parisians also made a historic run up to the finals of the Champions League but had to settle for the runners-up place against Bayern Munich.

PSG have already taken the top spot in the league table this term and, unless their performance level drastically drops or something unusual happens, are expected to successfully defend their title.

A defeat to Manchester United in the Champions League opener at home marked the only major setback so far this season for Thomas Tuchel’s men.

The 2-1 loss in the Group H fixture did enough for the naysayers as severe criticism was aimed their way, but Tuchel is not taking any of it.

“In Italy, are Juventus first in the league? No. In England, is it Liverpool or Manchester City? In Spain, is it Barcelona first or Real Madrid? No, they are not,” the PSG head coach stated assertively, via AS.

“We are first in Ligue 1, but everyone keeps saying, ‘Oh yeah, it’s PSG, it’s easy for them.’

“But it’s not easy! Maybe people should start to accept this is a real performance [to be first in the league].”
