The Black and Blues have reached the final for the first time since winning the Champions League in 2010 under Jose Mourinho.

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi feels his team will be considered the underdogs in the Champions League final, adding his side will be ‘unlucky’ in having either Manchester City or Real Madrid as an opponent.

Inter booked their spot in the final following a 3-0 aggregate win against AC Milan in the semi-finals, with Lautaro Martinez’s 74th-minute goal settling a 1-0 second-leg victory in their favor at San Siro on Tuesday.

“It’s normal that when you go to face City or Real you start underdogs, Inzaghi said.

“But football is always open: we met Real Madrid last year and we lost two games, but playing well. Manchester City needs no introduction: we will watch and whoever arrives will arrive.”

Inzaghi added: “Whoever we end up with, we will be unlucky because they are two really great teams with incredible quality.”

Manchester City and Real Madrid are level at 1-1 on aggregate in their Champions League semi-final contest. They’ll play each other in the second leg on Wednesday at the Etihad.

The winner of the Manchester City-Real Madrid tie will face Inter on June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul for the Champions League final.
