Inter Milan were indeed contemplating making a move for Stefan Savic but their pursuit is a thing of the past, informs Zarco Pelicic.
With the team’s defensive frailties quite visible during the course of the last season, Inter Milan were heavily linked with the signing of a new central defender in the previous transfer window.
Milan Skriniar was also rumored to be moving towards the exit door at San Siro over the summer, and this further fueled talks of Inter needing a new center-back.
Stefan Savic was the most frequently mentioned name in relation to Inter’s transfer interest.
“Some time ago Inter really wanted to sign Stefan but these are stories that belong to the past now,” the Montenegrin international’s agent Zarco Pelicic said confirming the claims, speaking to FcInterNews.
Rumors claimed that the Nerazzurri were even ready to offer Marcelo Brozovic to Atletico Madrid as a part of a swap deal for Savic.
Quizzed on the validity of those rumors, he responded: “I sincerely read this news from the media. I haven’t spoken to Inter in the last few weeks.
Savic’s agent, however, refused to rule out a possible move away from the Spanish capital in the future for his client.
“He’s happy at Atletico, but we’ll see what happens in the future,” Pelicic concluded.
