The Nerazzurri are on the verge of adding a new striker to their ranks.

Inter have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Alexis Sanchez as a free agent.

Sanchez spent the last season in Ligue 1 after leaving Inter to join Marseille. However, he is close to sealing a move back to San Siro.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sanchez will sign a “short-term” deal at Inter in the upcoming days.

Sanchez joins Inter as they look to improve their squad depth for the new season. The club called off a move for Romelu Lukaku after his controversial links with a transfer to Juventus. Edin Dzeko also left the club to join Fenerbahce earlier this summer, while Joaquin Correa is on the verge of joining Marseille.

Last season, Sanchez made a total of 44 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 18 goals and providing three assists. The Chilean is set to link up with Lautaro Martinez, who will lead Inter’s attacking setup during the 2023-24 campaign.

The Nerazzurri have also added Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic to their offence, with the latter arriving on a loan deal from Bologna.

Following a 2-0 win over Monza last weekend, Inter will take on Cagliari in their next league game this Monday.
