Inter has extended Federico Dimarco’s contract until 2026.
Having returned from a loan spell at Verona, Federico Dimarco has established himself as a starter at Inter this season. The left-back has displayed great form recently, balancing his defensive and offensive traits.
The 24-year-old’s recent development has persuaded Inter to give him a new contract.
The club’s official statement reads: “FC Internazionale Milano is pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached to extend Federico Dimarco’s contract with the club.
The 24-year-old’s new deal will run until 30 June 2026.”
According to Calciomercato, Dimarco used to earn €600,000 per season under his former contract. However, the club will most likely place him among average earners with the new deal.
On Tuesday, the Inter star spoke about his contract negotiations with the club.
He said: “I prefer to stay focused on the pitch, but if I’m honest I can’t wait to sign.”
Asked about his role as the team’s set-piece take, Dimarco responded: “In today’s football, set pieces are really important, both attacking and defending.”
“I think about big matches where sometimes one moment is enough,” he went on, “or against teams that play a very deep and compact defence. We work hard and you can see the results.”
Inter are leading the Serie A table as they sit four points above Napoli. Following the winter break, the Nerazzurri will continue their league campaign with a game against Bologna on January 6.
