Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni has claimed that it will be easier for Inter to sign Lionel Messi after he chose to stay at Barcelona.

Earlier today, Lionel Messi ended all speculation about his future after choosing to remain at Barcelona.

After his initial battle with the club over his release clause, the Barca star made a u-turn and let it all go.

Messi will now stay at the club for one more season and possibly leave as a free agent next summer.

The speculation is over for now but it could even come stronger by the end of next season.

With the hurdle of a staggering fee out of the way, many clubs will fancy their chances of signing Messi.

Inter are one of the sides interested in the Argentine but it’s far from an easy one to think about. Asides the Serie A side, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on his signature.

Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni now says Inter could boast a stronger chance to sign the Barca star next summer after his latest decision.

“Messi’s stroke of anger and his ‘I want to leave’ after the 8-2 loss to Bayern, has put the intermediaries who were working to bring the Argentine to Inter next season in difficulty,” Bucchioni explained in his piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“If he stays in La Liga it will be easier to make him become a Nerazzurri player in a year as he would no longer have a deal with Barcelona. They would only need to pay Messi’s monstrous salary and all his economic bandwagon. It is a possibility that he could be Nerazzurri in July 2021.”

“Inter hopes that Messi will remain at the Blaugrana to continue working to sign him next year.”
