The titleholders lost a couple of key players from last season but it didn’t look like it when they took to the pitch to begin the new campaign.
Inter Milan kick off the 2020-21 Serie A campaign in style by securing a thumping 4-0 victory over Genoa at San Siro on Saturday.
The opening goal for Inter came from an unexpected source, with center-back Milan Skriniar rising high to head home Hakan Calhanoglu’s corner just six minutes after kick-off.
In less than ten minutes, the hosts doubled their lead. Calhanoglu was once again involved, only his role reversed this time. The Turkey international fired a powerful shot that curled into the right corner of the net after being teed up by Edin Dzeko just outside the box.
Arturo Vila extended his side’s lead deep into the second half while Dzeko added another late on mark his Nerazzurri debut with a trademark powerful header.
