The second Derby della Madonnina of the season awaits, and Antonio Conte will be desperate for an act of revenge on Stefano Pioli.

A lot is at stake – a spot in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia to be accurate – for the second Derby della Madonnina of the season.

In what is always a highly contentious fixture, the two old rivals will once again lock horns at San Siro on Tuesday evening.

Stefano Pioli’s side got the better of Antonio Conte’s men in the previous meeting in Serie A but October’s result will hardly account for anything as both sides have suffered setbacks in recent weeks.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan Form:

The Nerazzurri go head into the match on the back of a scoreless draw against Udinese. However, they were able to get the better of defending Serie A champions Juventus in the preceding outing, beating them 2-0.

Inter appear to have picked up momentum in recent months, suffering just one defeat in their last 14 games across all competitions.

The fine form has helped in the race for the Scudetto, building a five-point lead over Juventus at second place and having closed the gap from the top of the table to just two points.

The Rossoneri, meanwhile, suffered a demoralizing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Atalanta last time out. But with Inter also dropping points, they were able to preserve their lead in the league.

Milan, though, have been quite consistent this season. They have suffered just two losses in Serie A so far, are yet to lose away from home, and have averaged over 2 goals in those games.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan Head-to-head:

The Blue & Blacks have a slight edge over their Red & Black counterparts, winning 82 out of the 226 total derbies. The latter, however, edged out in the previous meeting, thanks to a double from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan Team News:

Danilo D’Ambrosio remains on the sidelines and will be the only player unavailable for Conte.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, who picked up a mindless suspension in the previous round, will be a big miss for Pioli’s team. Ciprian Tatarusanu is expected to take up the position between the sticks.

Hakan Calhanoglu and Ismael Bennacer will be the other absentees, with the former out due to COVID-19 and the latter because of a thigh strain.

Predicted line-ups:

Inter Milan: Handanovic; Bastoni, De Vrij, Skriniar; Perisic, Gagliardini, Brozovic, Barella, Young; Martinez, Lukaku

AC Milan: Tatarusanu; Calabria, Romagnoli, Kjaer, Hernandez; Tonali, Kessie; Castillejo, Diaz, Leao; Ibrahimovic
