Giuseppe Marotta denies Inter Milan’s pursuit of Marcos Alonso while also commenting on Radja Nainggolan’s situation at the club.

Inter Milan have long been linked with Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, a player who is supposedly rated very highly by manager Antonio Conte.

An earlier report from Sky Sport claimed that the Nerazzurri were preparing a loan offer of around for the fullback with a compulsory buyout option of €12 million included.

Alonso enjoyed regular game time while Conte and then Maurizio Sarri were at the helm but not so much under Frank Lampard.

The arrival of Ben Chilwell this summer further saw him drop down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Alonso has reportedly been on Conte’s wishlist since January and his switch to Inter seemed probable this month, but Giuseppe Marotta has shut down the speculations with his recent comments.

“I can say that [Alonso] is not on our agenda and so he will not arrive,” the Inter chief executive told DAZN, via Goal.

Marotta also went on to address the uncertainty surrounding Radja Nainggolan’s future, saying that the midfielder is likely to quit San Siro.

“We cannot keep a player [Nainggolan] who wants to leave,” he added. “This will be evaluated with all members of the club.

“In this market, we have strengthened. We have spent a year that has led to this and we feel stronger.”
