After signing a trio of former FC Barcelona players in 2023, Inter Miami look set to add another one to their haul for the next season in Major League Soccer.
Former Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is on the verge of joining Inter Miami, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer journalist claims Suarez and Inter Miami reached a verbal agreement one month ago. The deal will last one year, but with an option to extend it for a second season.
Now, Inter Miami are prepared to make the agreement official and announce it to their fanbase.
If everything goes according to plan, Suarez will become the fourth ex-Barcelona player to join the MLS club. His former teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba arrived earlier in the year.
The Herons, coached by former Barca boss Gerardo Martino, won the Leagues Cup in 2023. They now hope to reach the MLS playoffs in 2024 after failing to qualify this year.
Suarez, a world-renowned goalscoring talent, last played for Brazilian team Gremio until this month. The 36-year-old made 53 appearances in one season at the club, managing 23 goals and 17 assists.
