Interest in the Argentine was reported from Arsenal and Tottenham during the previous transfer window.

Lautaro Martinez’s future will soon be resolved, with Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta expecting the player to sign a contract extension “within ten days.”

Inter Milan lost a few key figures over the summer. Star striker Romelu Lukaku left the club for Chelsea, full-back Achraf Hakimi joined Paris Saint-Germain and, perhaps most importantly, manager Antonio Conte walked out after some disagreements with the board.

Lautaro, whose current contract runs in the summer of 2023, has been tipped to follow in their footsteps. The forward was heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2020 and to Arsenal and Tottenham after 2020-21.

Marotta, however, sees the player as the “future of Inter” and suggests the 24-year-old striker is set to put an end to speculations about his possible exit from San Siro very soon.

“We are going to announce his extension within ten days, he is the future of Inter and we want to keep him at the club,” the Inter Milan CEO told La Gazetta Dello Sport.
