The Nerazzurri seem to have found their replacement for Andre Onana.

Inter Milan’s search for a new goalkeeper takes an interesting turn as they reportedly edge closer to signing Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin.

With Andre Onana’s departure from Manchester United and Samir Handanovic leaving on a free transfer, Inter is in need of a reliable keeper ahead of the upcoming season.

Among the candidates on Inter’s radar are Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich and Anatoliy Trubin from Shakhtar Donetsk. Sommer comes with a €6 million release clause, while Trubin has an asking price of approximately €20 million.

Shakhtar Donetsk left Trubin out of their matchday squad during a league fixture against Veres Rivne on Thursday. According to Calciomercato, the decision was not purely tactical but appeared to be connected to his links with Inter.

Shakhtar reportedly believe Trubin has declined to sign a new contract because he has already reached an agreement to join Inter Milan on a free transfer next year. This indicates that Inter may have secured a pre-contract agreement with the talented Ukrainian goalkeeper.

With the situation unfolding in such a manner, Inter Milan seem to be closing in on securing Trubin as a viable alternative to Sommer. The 21-year-old Trubin has shown immense potential during his time at Shakhtar, establishing a reputation as one of the most promising keepers in Europe.
