A former Juventus forward speaks on the Inter pair, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Milan’s uprise in Serie A.
Inter Milan pair Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have been selected as the best attacking partnership in Serie A by David Trezeguet.
After enjoying a productive debut season with Inter, Lukaku continues to build on his reputation as one of the world’s best strikers. The Belgian marksman has scored 25 goals through 34 outings in all competitions for the club in 2020/21.
Martinez has also been crucial to his side’s rise to the summit of the league table, contributing 16 goals and nine assists in 37 appearances this term.
“The Lukaku-Lautaro duo is the most important one,” Trezeguet told, via Football Italia. “They are two players who have scored a lot, they respond to [coach Antonio] Conte’s needs.”
Elsewhere, a 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo remains lethal as ever. The prolific Portuguese has found the back of the net 30 times in 34 games for Juventus this season.
“Then there’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who continues to demonstrate his will and determination,” Trezeguet added.
AC Milan might have slipped up in the Serie A title race but they continue to apply pressure on rivals Inter, with a six-point gap separating the two teams.
“Nobody expected Milan at a certain level, but they are proving to be competitive,” said the ex-Juve man. “The level of the championship has increased a lot, it’s more fun.”
