The Nerazzurri dismantled the rock bottom side to go top of the Serie A table.

Inter defeated Salernitana 5-0 in their Serie A match on Friday. Simone Inzaghi’s side ended their run of three winless league games while Salernitana suffered another heavy defeat.

Martinez steals the show! ⚽⚽⚽

Inter came into the match on the back of their goalless draw against Milan in Coppa Italia. However, they looked way more dominant in midfield this time.

Lautaro Martinez went on to score twice in the first half before completing his hat-trick with a precise strike in the 56th minute.

Salernitana tried to counter Inter’s crushing firepower by pressing high up the pitch, but it only provided more space for the Nerazzurri’s forwards.

Edin Dzeko, who provided the assist for Martinez’s third goal, then went on to increase Inter’s lead by securing a brace. A great 5-0 win for the Italian giants showcased their true attacking abilities while exposing Salernitana’s horrific defensive form.

What’s next for Inter and Salernitana?

Inter goes on top of the Serie A table while leapfrogging Napoli for the second time in recent weeks. The Nerazzurri will now prepare to face Liverpool in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Salernitana will continue their efforts to survive relegation when they host Sassuolo next week.
