The Bianconeri defeated their arch-rivals to get closer to the league’s top four.
Juventus defeated Inter 1-0 in their Serie A game on Sunday. The Nerazzurri go into the international break on the back of back-to-back losses.
A narrow win!
The first half started with Inter quickly establishing control over the game. However, the Nerazzurri lacked enough attacking edge to convert their early chances.
Juventus, on the other hand, waited patiently for counter-attacking chances as they hoped to use the space between Inter’s lines.
A few brilliant reactions from Wojciech Szczesny kept Juventus in the game long enough to let them score the opener.
Following an assist from Adrien Rabiot, Filip Kostic latched onto the ball on the edge of the box. The Serbia international then rifled the ball into the lower-right corner of the net with a powerful shot to put Juve ahead.
The visitors then kept Inter at bay with their fast-paced counter-attacks after the break.
The Nerazzurri remained in charge of the possession but most of their attacks ended in wishful crosses from the flanks. Szczesny successfully kept his clean sheet as Juve held on to their solid defensive display throughout the second period.
The victory sends Juve to seventh spot on the table, seven points below the Champions League zone. Inter, on the other hand, stay third as they remain two points behind Lazio.
