Mount proved what a class act he is by making an incredible gesture to some Chelsea academy players a while ago.
Mason Mount may be a star in the Chelsea first-team, hailed as the club’s future captain, and raised his game recently, but he hasn’t forgotten his roots.
The 22-year-old is living the dream that every Blues academy prospect harbors, having graduated from the academy into a full-time first-team regular. He’s already made 92 appearances and appears to be going from strength to strength under Thomas Tuchel.
Mason Mount is officially the first Chelsea player to score or assist in three consecutive England appearances since Frank Lampard, in 2013.

But while Mount rightfully wins plaudits for his performances on the pitch, his actions off it have also impressed.
According to The Athletic, Mount remains a down-to-earth kind of guy and isn’t above giving the current academy players a helping hand. He’s even paid for their lunch bill.
“When I look at the way Mount conducts himself, he’s the real deal and academy players see him as an example to follow,” said a club insider.
“When he speaks to them, they get the impression he’s still waiting for his chance. The fact he is in the first team has not gone to his head. He never gets too high or too low and that’s the example Mason sets for the others.
“On one occasion, before there was a lockdown caused by the pandemic, Mount walked past a cafe in Cobham. He looked through the window and saw a lot of the academy players having some food together.
“He walked in and paid the bill for all of them. That’s class.”
Mount delivered another superb display on Sunday to help England beat Albania 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier.
