Everton forward scored his maiden goal for England against Wales bringing him to an overall goal tally of 10 goals.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin sustained his goalscoring form on Thursday. Consequently, he netted his first goal for England on his debut against Wales.

The 23-year-old partnered up with Danny Ings for the Three Lions in the final third.

Calvert-Lewin headed England’s first goal in the 26th minute at Wembley Stadium. Subsequently, Jack Grealish lobbed the ball to the Everton man who directed it past Wayne Hennessey.

10 goals mark!

Calvert-Lewin started the season with a bang for the Toffees. Now, the striker’s tally goes to nine goals across all competitions for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Evidently, he is the top-performing player in the whole of Europe. Moreover, with his first goal for Gareth Southgate’s team, he now reaches 10 goals mark this early in the season.

Calvert-Lewin is the only Everton player to score for England at Wembley in 35 years. The previous was Gary Lineker in October 1985. He netted three goals in a World Cup qualifier vs Turkey.

The Everton academy director David Unsworth labeled Calvert-Lewin as the “perfect number nine”.

The England international studied videos of AC Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi. Additionally, Ancelotti praised the forward for his accomplishments.

In the meantime, Grealish’s cross made him the first Aston Villa player to make an assist for the country. The last person to do so was Stewart Downing in March 2011. Downing set up Andy Carroll as England drew 1-1 vs Ghana.

The duo will feature again in the UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium on the weekend. Plus, another opportunity falls into place as England will face Denmark three days later.
