Ready to hit the ground running after his Serie A return, the Croatian hitman is motivated to help the Rossoneri in their title charge.

Mario Mandzukic has already taken a liking to his new life at AC Milan, saying he is amused by the “nice atmosphere” at the club.

Mandzukic signed for Milan on a free transfer until the end of the season earlier this week.

The former Croatia international had been without a club ever since parting ways with Al Duhail last summer. He left the Qatari club after terminating his contract by mutual consent in July 2020.

The 34-year-old is no stranger to Serie A football having enjoyed a successful stint at Juventus between 2015 and 2019, winning four back-to-back Scudetto, three Coppa Italia trophies in a row, and a Supercoppa Italian title.

Mandzukic was a key member of the Bianconeri squad during his four-year stay at the club, scoring 44 goals, and now he will be required to play a similar role at Milan.

“I’m ready for this challenge, it’s important for me to be ready for the team as soon as possible,” Mandzukic said in his first press conference at the club.

“I’m very happy to be at Milan and I have been preparing for this opportunity. At Milanello, there’s a really nice atmosphere, it’s nice to be there.

“I want to do the best I possibly can.”
