The England international has found his spark again under Ten Hag this season.

Marcus Rashford has regained his “best shape” with the help of a clear plan, according to Erik ten Hag.

Since arriving at Old Trafford last summer, the Dutchman has helped several Man Utd players reach their best form. More notable than others is Rashford, who’s registered 27 goals and nine assists across all competitions so far this season.

Asked about Rashford’s path to improvement, Ten Hag said on Friday: “It’s not about just a talk, I’m not Harry Potter.

“It’s like a process, so there are many tools you’re putting in in your management to let people get to best form, best shape.”

After withdrawing from England‘s squad with injury, Rashford decided to spent the international break in the US. Ten Hag says the striker shows more motivation after taking time off from football.

“For me, it’s positive he took that time to turn off from football,” Ten Hag added. “I have seen him back this week and he has shown a lot of energy, a lot of motivation, it was a good spirit and a lot of focus.”

Rashford’s form could be crucial for Man Utd as they start the final weeks of the campaign. The Red Devils are still competing in three competitions after securing the EFL Cup last month.

Ten Hag’s men will take on Newcastle in their first match after the international break on Sunday.
