Ever Banega suggests he is leaving Sevilla with a peaceful feeling after guiding the team to another European success.

A 3-2 victory over Inter Milan last night saw Sevilla pick up their record sixth Europa League title.

Ever Banega played a key part in the win as he set up one of Luuk de Jong’s. It was also a free-kick from Banega that led to his side’s winning goal as, after Inter failed to clear the ball, Romelu Lukaku put the ball in his own net in an attempt to block an audacious overhead kick by Diego Carlos.

Banega now has collected three Europa League winners’ medals from during his spells at Sevilla. He first joined the club in 2016, left for Inter two years later, and then returned in 2017.

The 32-year old midfielder is once again set to part ways with the Spanish side and will soon join Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab.

“I have no words for this emotional and at the same time, a bit said moment,” Banega told Movistar.

“I have to leave the club of my life, but I am satisfied. I’m leaving with another title, thanks to my team-mates, and I am leaving with my head held high.

“I want to thank all of them [the Sevilla players] for making me win another cup and the coaching staff for taking us to the top.”
