Alexander Nubel is feeling settled at Bayern Munich and is looking forward to honing his skills under the wing of a great of the game.
Alexander Nubel had agreed to personal terms regarding a switch from FC Schalke to Bayern Munich in December 2019 but completed the move after the end of the last season.
The German goalkeeper joined Allianz Arena on a free transfer on 30th June following the expiration of his contract with his former side.
He is expected to play as a second-fiddle to a man who followed a similar career trajectory as him nine years ago and went on to set new benchmarks for his club, country, and in all of football.
Nubel, who is tipped as the future of the club, expresses his excitement at having joined Bayern ahead of the 2020/21 Bundesliga season opener against his former side.
“Bayern is the biggest club in the world. We saw that yet again in the summer,” the 23-year old said in a press conference.
“I can learn a great deal from Manuel Neuer, he was the ‘World’s Best Goalkeeper’ for many years. I’ll try to soak it all up!”
“I’ve settled in at the club and in the city very well – it’s all going very, very well, everyone’s really nice.”
