A string of poor results has put Zizou’s future at the Spanish Capital at risk, but Toni Kroos trusts his boss to produce a turnaround.

Real Madrid clinched the La Liga title in 2019/20, a victory that can be attributed to their solid defense over the course of the season and their remarkable unbeaten run towards the end of it.

However, their standards have substantially dropped in this campaign with Los Blancos finding both consistency and defensive solidity hard to find.

The defending champions let in four goals in the previous league match all of which was conceded due to dreadful errors by own defenders.

Zinedine Zidane’s men have already dropped eight points after eight matches so far and their Champions League performances have been equally, if not more, poor.

Much criticism have been aimed at the team as a result of the uninspiring form, with Zidane particularly the target.

The French tactician has been criticized for his team selection and tactics, and it has been suggested that he is now on borrowed time at Santiago Bernabeu.

Toni Kroos, however, expects the man who made history with Real Madrid by leading them to European glory three times in succession to bring about a change in the current scenario.

The German midfielder told Marca: “[Everyone] knows that, if you don’t get results and you don’t meet expectations at Real Madrid, there are questions. It’s normal. With Zidane, we’ve already had times like this and we normally come out of bad runs.

“A few weeks ago, after losing against Cadiz and Shakhtar, we went to Barcelona and had an amazing game. We got through that and the boss is the first person to know what happens at this club if you don’t get results.

“In the end, what we have to do is improve and try to win games. The boss will find the solution.”
