The former Real Madrid star is eager to return to the Spanish top-flight by joining Valencia.

James Rodriguez has revealed his desire to join Valencia before the transfer window deadline.

A shock transfer saw the Colombian star join Qatari side Al-Rayyan from Everton last September.

James has two years left on his current deal. But he is keen to return to La Liga for the new season.

“If it were up to me, I would go there [Valencia] on foot. But if I went on foot I would arrive late because then the transfer market closes,” Rodriguez told El Chiringuito on Twitch.

“Seriously, it’s a great club with a good fan base and now Cavani has arrived too. If they want someone to assist Cavani, I’m there.”

James started his European career at Real Madrid after his wonderful performances in the 2014 World Cup.

Despite showing flashes of his best form, the Colombia international never managed to live up to expectations at Santiago Bernabeu.

Following a short loan spell at Bayern, James joined Everton to rediscover his spark under Carlo Ancelotti in 2020. However, Ancelotti’s return to Real Madrid convinced him to join Al-Rayyan last year.

Let’s see if Valencia will make a move for James before the transfer window’s deadline on Thursday.
