The World Cup winner could team up with the ageless Swede after leaving Chelsea this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is keen for Olivier Giroud to join AC Milan but warns there can only be “one god” in the team.

Giroud was linked with a switch to Serie A in the last couple of transfer windows, with interest reported from Inter Milan, Juventus, and AS Roma.

It appears his time at Chelsea is finally coming to an end, with the Frenchman yet to sign a contract extension despite his current deal expiring at the end of the month.

AC Milan are reportedly targeting the 33-year-old as they look to bolster their attacking ahead of 2020/21.

Reacting to the rumors, Ibrahimovic says he would welcome the striker but suggests he himself would remain the main man at San Siro.

The Swede told Gazzetta dello Sport: “The more high-level players we can get, the better. Giroud has great experience and we don’t have many players who have won trophies. If he comes he is welcome.

“Also because this is a very helpful group who want to learn and improve, a well-guided group.

“Am I selfish? I have to be, there are many are kings but there is only one god and that’s me. But without my teammates, I don’t go anywhere and I know it.

“Football made me meet people, travel, experience different cultures. It gave me the life I have. What did I give? The most complete striker in the world.”
